DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS BETWEEN TÜRKİYE AND NEPAL

Within the framework of Türkiye’s strategy of opening up to Asia, it is aimed to further deepen relations with Nepal Diplomatic relations between Türkiye and Nepal have strengthened with increasing momentum since their inception. In addition to supporting each other on various international platforms, the two countries have cooperated in many sectors such as tourism, agriculture, energy, and infrastructure, acting in line with common interests. The rich cultural heritage and tourist potential of Nepal, which is strategically located, creates an important attraction point for Turkish tourists and investors. At the same time, Nepal’s potential in the agricultural sector creates cooperation opportunities for Turkish food and agricultural companies. In this context, Türkiye’s strategy of opening up to Asia aims to deepen relations with Nepal further. Various steps, including business forums, investment summits, and sectoral meetings, have been taken to increase the trade volume between the two countries, which is 48.088 million dollars according to 2023 data, to develop investment opportunities and to strengthen ties between the business community. In addition, the potential of Nepal, with a GDP of 40.15 billion USD, contributes to the future relations of the two countries. Establishing a stronger, sustainable, and mutually beneficial economic cooperation between Türkiye and Nepal is of great importance for further strengthening and diversifying the trade relations of both countries. It should be noted that Türkiye-Nepal relations continue to develop based on mutual respect, common interests, and friendship. It is important to emphasize that both countries will continue their efforts to further deepen these relations and strengthen the ties between the peoples.
