NEW FRAMEWORK IN THE 2026 EXPORT STRATEGY: TARGET COUNTRY NUMBER INCREASED TO 60

As global trade enters a new phase of seeking equilibrium amid geopolitical risks, supply chain disruptions, and regional restructuring, Türkiye aims to expand its export policy to a broader and more diverse geography. The Ministry of Trade’s decision to increase the number of target countries to 60 by 2026 stands out as a concrete step in this approach. The updated list offers exporters not only new markets but also new areas of opportunity reinforced by support mechanisms.
NEWLY ADDED TARGET COUNTRIES
In this context, while the 55 countries included in the target countries for 2025 remain on the 2026 list, Palestine, Syria, Slovakia, Hungary, and North Macedonia have been added as new target countries.
GLOBAL BALANCE IN MIND
The target country list indicates a balanced distribution covering both traditional main markets and emerging economies.
The 2026 target country list includes;
Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom, China, France, Italy, Spain, Japan, the Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Canada, which are high-volume and strategic markets, as well as countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America, which also hold an important place. This approach aims to reduce Türkiye’s dependence on a single market in its export strategy and to adapt to a multipolar global trade structure.
COMPREHENSIVE EXPORT SUPPORT
The Ministry of Trade provides support to exporters under 16 different headings. Among these supports, the following areas stand out in particular:
-Participation in international fairs
-TURQUALITY and brand support
-Sectoral trade delegations
-UR-GE projects
-Market entry support
-Unit rent support
-E-export support.
TARGET COUNTRY INCENTIVE MECHANISM
For activities targeting specific countries:
-An additional 20 points of support for trade fair participation and sector-specific trade delegations,
-An additional 5 points of support for companies operating in target sectors.
The increase in the number of target countries and the strengthening of selective support mechanisms demonstrate that Türkiye’s 2026 export policy adopts an approach focused on market diversity and sustainable growth rather than quantity.
