There is a strong consensus between our countries to increase the annual trade volume up to $30 billion. The relation between Turkey and Iran has a centuries-old history. We have ever-enhancing cooperation and friendship based on our historical, cultural, and geographical values. Turkish and Iranian companies also make mutual investments along with their trade. And there is a strong consensus between our countries to increase the annual trade volume up to $30 billion. Our Preferential Trade Agreement strongly contributes to developing trade between us. The visa-free travel opportunity between Turkey and Iran is another thing that contributes to trade. We now hope the sanctions that have been imposed on Iran for some time, which really became heavier in 2019-2020, come to an end. Because Iran harbours great potential in its markets, and Turkish products are regarded to be of high quality there. Today, the country offers attractive opportunities especially in food, hygiene products, medication, and medical device areas. As the Business Council, we are striving towards developing our relations. And we believe that we need more effort on both sides to enhance cooperation and reach our trade volume goals. Chairperson of Turkey-Iran Business Council Osman Aksoy
