230.000 people have visited the Troy Museum and Archaeological Site in the first 5 months of 2019
Museum of Troy which is in the entrance of the 5 thousand years old Troy Ancient City in Çanakkale is nominated for “European Museum of the Year 2020” by the European Museum Forum. The building of the museum has been started in 2014 within the scope of the competition organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the museum has opened its doors to the visitors on October 10, 2018, with the official ceremony in which the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has participated. Çanakkale Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism Kemal Dokuz have said that the Troy Museum has cost almost 75 million liras.
