Turkiye’s export of food products to Japan has been constantly increasing in recent years with commercial ties established through Projects, Exhibitions and Trade Delegations. While fishery products, mainly bluefin tuna, were at the top in exports to Japan, pasta ranked second. In addition, candies, olive oil, raisins, dried figs and dried apricots are the leading products in export performance. The Aegean Region, which is Türkiye’s leader in food exports, is also the leader in food exports to Japan. Japan and Turkiye are geographically distant countries, but the Japanese and the Turks, who have had mutual closeness and goodwill towards each other since the past, are open to all kinds of cooperation to develop friendship and trade between them.
